Our vision
A life in a nature-oriented, ecological, and self-sufficient community. A community of like-minded people who can support themselves and who want to live the vision of intergenerational coexistence.
A life in a nature-oriented, ecological, and self-sufficient community. A community of like-minded people who can finance themselves and who want to live the vision of intergenerational togetherness. This includes not only our villa by the sea, directly behind the dunes, in the middle of a fertile and diverse permaculture garden. We design our project according to the 12 permaculture principles and live together with volunteers, guests, and workshop participants. In spring and autumn, dance events, yoga classes, and art projects take place on our large terrace at VELA VEGA, so the villa is currently functioning very well as a hostel and seminar center. Our dream is to extend this vision to our entire settlement here in southern Sicily. There are several empty houses here that are very cheap to buy due to the aging population.
Over the next five years, my son (33) and I (55) are looking for fellow campaigners, helpers, and roommates who would like to spend the winter here in our villa, within our community, to see if they would like to settle here long-term. People who share a common goal and are also interested in providing travelers with a home for the duration of their stay over these eight years.
We at VELA VEGA want to create a place of experience and well-being for all residents, travelers and workshop participants.
Dolce vita with body and soul!

VELA VEGA is part of the rural development of Sicily, particularly in the Caltanissetta region. Through our permaculture-based approach, we offer a fresh perspective on social life and holidays. We are committed to environmental and nature conservation in our region. We keep the beach clean and aim to transform the dunes in front of our property into a nature reserve. Our mission is to offer an ecological alternative to our society's overconsumption. To achieve this, we work with volunteers, purchase local and organic products, rescue stray and injured cats, and avoid fossil fuels as much as possible. To continue and expand our work in the future, we welcome any support. You can support us financially through the following channels:
