Get involved

You don't want to just lie on the beach during your vacation and/or you've already done enough sightseeing? You don't have enough time in your daily life for your hobbies or you simply want to try something new? Whether it's art, gardening, or party planning, you're welcome to contribute to our project and be part of its ongoing development. Take a look at what other guests have already created:

Vacation in exchange for work

As a volunteer for at least three weeks, you'll gain insight into the various tasks involved in running a permaculture hostel. Our volunteer apartment, with two rooms and a shared kitchen, is available free of charge for those who want to lend a hand. In return, you'll help with the design and maintenance of VELA VEGA for 20 hours per week. The bathrooms, communal kitchens, common rooms, and terraces are shared by everyone; further details can be found in the information. We look forward to welcoming you! ...

You want to offer a workshop

You offer workshops or seminars and are looking for a venue to share your skills. Our villa by the sea offers many possibilities. We provide a comfortable and welcoming space for up to 15 people. Stylish private apartments and single and multi-bed rooms await you and your guests. Whether you offer your workshop as a package, book the rooms and divide them among your participants, or let them choose their own rooms, is entirely up to you. Please contact us in good time so we can discuss everything, organize it, and find a suitable date.

You would like to support us financially

Vela Vega is part of the rural development of Sicily, particularly in the Caltanissetta region. Through our permaculture-based approach, we offer a new perspective on social life and holidays. We are committed to environmental and nature conservation in our region, keeping the beach clean and aiming to transform the dunes right outside our door into a nature reserve. Our mission is to offer an ecological alternative to our society's overconsumption. To achieve this, we work with volunteers, purchase local and organic products, rescue stray and injured cats, and avoid fossil fuels as much as possible. To continue and expand our work in the future, or simply if you like our project, we welcome any support. You can find more information here, including how to support us financially:
